What It's For
StoryBoard Quick is clip art with a brain. It makes creating high-quality storyboards as easy and fun as playing a computer game. Over one hundred pre-drawn objects (props, locations and characters) are available from menus and ready to be combined into an infinite array of storyboard frames.

Even the graphically-challenged can create high-quality storyboards with the click and drag ease of StoryBoard Quick. Its library of clip art is amazing versatile and can be augmented with add-on libraries (facing page) or any other graphics you have available or create yourself. Storyboards can be printed with from one to sixteen frames per page in either horizontal or vertical format; with or without captions.

Features Include:

  • Pen Tool lets you use the mouse to draw and color in the frame.
  • Zoom in or Zoom out tools makes creating closeups easy.
  • Caption Box: Add dialogue, script and camera notes and frame numbers.
  • Aspect Ratios: TV/Computer Screen; European Feature; US Feature; Wide Screen.
  • Use pre-drawn props, locations and characters to quickly build your frames.
  • Arrows, Overheads and Director's tools show camera motion.
  • Duplicate Frames makes reverse angles quicker and easier to create.
  • Overview allows you to display multiple thumbnail images of frames on the screen.
  • Print up to sixteen frames per page with and without captions.
  • Print Preview your chosen layout.
  • Import and Export objects and frames.
  • Seven optional Add-On Libraries are available to give you characters with just the right look for: Drama; Corporate; Action Adventure; Comedy; Twenty Something.
Bottom line: this is a quick shortcut to appearing more professional, ensuring that everyone has the same visuals in mind and minimizing unpleasant surprises further into production when changes get more expensive.

How It's Used
From city skylines to country roads, each storyboard frame can have the background you want. Or how about setting your scene in a bedroom, inside a car or on an island? Select any one from the location menu and it pops in a storyboard frame fully rendered. Would you like your exterior to be at sunset, dawn or under a starry sky? Another selection from the location menu will add the sky you want and let you adjust the horizon line. Characters can be added, faced in any direction and made larger or smaller to create depth and perspective. Would you like a character to have a dog, a phone, a gun, or how about a drink? A click on the prop toolbar will insert any one, then let you make it any size and place it anywhere.

You can also use the pen tool to create and color your own illustrations or import illustrations created with other graphics programs. Photos of people, products and locations can be scanned into your computer (if you're blessed with the right magic boxes and software) and then pasted into a storyboard frame.

Who Needs It
Anyone who is ready to move beyond stick-figure storyboards. StoryBoard Quick is also faster and easier than drawing stick-figures and brings high quality storyboards within reach of even the skimpiest production budget.

for StoryBoard Quick

To add attitude and positioning to your StoryBoard Quick storyboards, seven add-on libraries are available.

What They're For
The characters provided with the basic StoryBoard Quick package are generic. These add-ons help create a more specific style for your storyboard, which heightens impact and reinforces positioning.

How They're Used
Add-on libraries augment the standard pre-drawn characters provided by StoryBoard Quick. By clicking on them, they are pasted into storyboard frames. They can then be made larger or smaller to create perspective and adjusted to face in different directions.
